Nathan G. Alexander III is a proven leader, lawyer, and public servant dedicated to advancing Prairie View through principled leadership and strategic vision.
In 2020, at just 22 years old, Nathan became one of the youngest elected officials in the State of Texas when he was elected to the Prairie View City Council. He went on to serve two full terms (2020–2024), including serving as Mayor Pro Tem, helping guide the city through key decisions impacting infrastructure, development, and community engagement.
A proud graduate of Prairie View A&M University (Class of 2020), Nathan earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Texas School of Law in 2025. He recently sat for the February 2026 Texas Bar Exam and is currently awaiting results.
Nathan has worked across all levels of government, building relationships with state legislators, members of Congress, and executive branch leaders. His experience and connections uniquely position Prairie View to effectively navigate state and federal systems to bring resources home.
Beyond public office, Nathan is a proud dog dad to Barack and a proud uncle to several nieces and nephews who he hopes will one day live in and attend Prairie View A&M University. His vision for Prairie View is personal — rooted in ensuring that the next generation inherits a city that is strong, transparent, and built to last.

Prairie View is growing — and that growth must improve the everyday lives of our residents. We must build a city that is not only expanding, but thriving. A city where families can live comfortably, work locally, and enjoy community life without having to leave town for basic necessities. That means: Responsible, strategic development planning Infrastructure that keeps pace with expansion Long-term financial sustainability Attracting businesses that create local jobs Supporting small and minority-owned businesses Expanding retail, dining, and entertainment options Growth alone is not success. Growth must improve quality of life.
No community can reach its full potential without access to basic needs. Prairie View must address the realities of food and medical deserts by: Actively recruiting full-service grocery retailers Encouraging fresh food access and community partnerships Expanding healthcare access through strategic partnerships Creating incentives to attract essential services to underserved areas Access to fresh food and quality healthcare is foundational to a healthy, sustainable city.
